Alent Dynamic ®
— The future of wood drying

Learn more

We found a process much closer to how nature actually works, only quicker; a method that puts significantly less stress on the timber, but is still faster than conventional drying methods, and requires a lot less energy.

Today this dynamic wood drying process, based on our patented method, is automated to meet defined customer requirement.

What we do

  • Stacked wooden planks or boards with sunlight illuminating the edges, creating shadows and highlights on the wood's surface.

We Don’t Make or Sell Kilns

We upgrade existing or new kilns with our patented automated wood drying process that delivers on very specific key customer demands. Demands that translate to increased revenue.

Our wood drying process works with all kilns. We have installed our system in 40 different kinds of kilns from 15 different manufacturers, ranging from new to up to 40 years old.

    Pioneers in dynamic pump drying

We are an innovative Swedish company with passion for wood drying.

Over 40 years of innovation and more than 250 000 drying batches completed, we are the pioneers in dynamic pump drying. We’re not just part of the future of wood drying – we’re driving it forward.

Others might know pump drying as interval drying but for Alent who invented this, it is pump drying.

    Who could have known?

It didn’t start in a lab. It began with an unexpected event.

One weekend in 2004, Alent Dynamic founder Eric Björkman was remotely monitoring a wood kiln when something went wrong. The kiln malfunctioned. But when he checked the results, he was surprised: the wood had dried perfectly.

It shouldn’t have worked. But it did.

That unexpected outcome sparked a question: what if you could dry wood faster and use less energy just by controlling the process smarter? Experiments followed. By the next year, Alent had secured a patent for a completely new method: pump drying.

Today, Alent's technology is known across the industry – and it all began with a kiln that didn't work as expected.

Who we are and what we belive in

Our mission is to endlessly improve the wood drying process and help our customer produce better quality wood faster, at a significantly lower cost, with less impact on the environment.

Wood drying is the last and most difficult phase of the wood production process. Our mission is to endlessly improve upon this process and help our customers produce even higher quality wood at significantly lower costs, with less impact on the environment.

Pressurized hot water spraying was just the beginning. Our patented Alent Dynamic® wood drying process is our most important innovation — and possibly the industry's most impactful to date.

To the environment and neighboring communities, an investment in Alent Dynamic® technology is 20 times more valuable than an investment in new wind power.
