New compartment kiln from OS Panto adapted for the Scandinavian market with Alent control system

At the LIGNA fair Alent featured new solutions that makes wood drying even better if the kiln manufacturer improves their constructions. OS Panto is the first to have done just that.

Luca Cadamuro, Sales Manager in Europe for OS Panto, has developed a new construction for compartment kilns in stainless steel, specifically for the Scandinavian market with high demands on availability, capacity and durability.

SP has measured significant energy savings in a kiln with Alent Dynamic®control system

The Alent vision is that all batch kilns in the world shall be controlled by Alent Dynamic® control system. Alent will not manufacture any kilns. Therefor we presented several mechanical solutions for kiln constructions at this year’s LIGNA trade show. We want to push energy-efficient wood drying solutions that utilize all possibilities with Alent Dynamic®.

In a full scale demo project funded by Setra, Alent and The Swedish Energy Agency, one of this new solutions was tested. Measurements by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden showed great improvements in the drying of pine 50 mm to 18% compared to conventional drying:

61% lower power consumption
20% less heat consumption
15% faster drying time and tension free wood
